Outcome of 2026 EOI for Market Operations
Camden Council undertook a formal Expression of Interest (EOI) process in 2025–2026 to select a suitable operator for the Camden Town Farm Produce Markets, ensuring transparency, strong governance, and alignment with Council’s long-term objectives.
PROCESS SUMMARY
EOI Development: Council prepared a clear framework outlining expectations for market operations, including support for local producers, sustainability, and community outcomes.
Public Release: The EOI was open from 27 January to 27 February 2026, attracting strong interest from prospective operators.
Assessment: Submissions were assessed against capability, experience, and alignment with Council’s vision.
Outcome: Following a strong response to the EOI, the selected operator is an incorporated cooperative of existing stallholders, who presented a clear and shared vision for the continued growth and success of the weekly markets
Transition: A managed handover is underway ensuring continuity with the new operator commencing in June 2026.
